Impossible Blue
The Sky's impenetrable blue
How unfair
For I know the cloud and dusty brown is not far removed
It beckons me to play
I cry
Never longing for rain or dark shadows
Still, injured from the pain that comes
With feeble optimism
Change comes about with blue
But waiting for the day when blue dries out
Just as green leaves fall
All colors turn
My limpid blue eyes so clear as a river
Now frequent blurred sight
Now tainted green
Something you enjoy
Not for long
Turn for better for worse
The turning will come
And I'm supposed to enjoy the incessant blue sky
And I'm supposed to enjoy the incessant blue sky
